Listing guidelines
A listing that follows these guidelines is approved faster and sells better. They describe what the editor asks for, what the upload must pass, and what the reviewer looks at.
01What every listing needs
Plain English · A clear name, an honest one-line tagline, a full description, a version, a price, a category, a cover image and the product file itself.
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
| Name | 3–100 characters. The product's real name, no keyword stuffing, no "BEST", no emoji walls. |
| URL slug | Lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens, 3–100 characters. Set once; it becomes the listing's address. |
| Tagline | Up to 200 characters. One sentence that says what it is and who it is for. |
| Description | Up to 50,000 characters. What is included, what it requires, what it does not do, how it is licensed to the buyer. |
| Version | Up to 50 characters, ideally semantic (1.2.0). Bump it when the file changes. |
| Price | Zero or more, in whole cents. Zero makes the listing free — no payment, no fee. |
| Category & type | Pick the closest match; a mis-filed listing is returned for correction. |
| Cover image | Your own artwork or a real screenshot. No stock imagery you do not own, no other creators' work, no misleading mock-ups. |
| Product file | One file from your account, uploaded through the editor. See section 02. |

02Files & uploads
Plain English · Upload a genuine file of a permitted type. Executables, scripts, SVG and HTML are refused. Package software as a ZIP.
Every upload must pass the marketplace's file checks before a listing can reference it:
- Permitted types: images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, TIFF, BMP), documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument), text (plain text, CSV, JSON), archives (ZIP, RAR, 7z, gzip) and media (MP4, MPEG, WebM, MP3, WAV, OGG). SVG and HTML are not accepted.
- The declared type must match the bytes. A file whose real content does not match its type is rejected.
- Executables and scripts are rejected regardless of type — Windows EXE, Linux ELF, macOS Mach-O, Java class files and shell scripts. Ship software as source or a packaged archive with a README, never a bare binary.
- Archives are inspected structurally. Path traversal entries, absolute paths, excessive entry counts or depth, and zip-bomb shapes are refused.
- Size: the storefront editor accepts uploads up to 10 MB. Larger products should be split or compressed; contact us if your product genuinely needs more.
The file must belong to your own account — the marketplace verifies this before saving the listing.
03Accurate descriptions
Plain English · Say exactly what the buyer gets. Requirements, limits and licence in the description, not in the fine print after purchase.
- List what is in the download: file formats, page or item counts, duration, resolution, included source files.
- State requirements: software, versions, operating systems, skill level, an EternalEngine plan if the product installs into the app.
- State what the product does not do or include, if a buyer might reasonably assume otherwise.
- Disclose AI-generated or AI-assisted content, and any third-party components and their licences.
- Say how buyers may use it if you offer more or less than the standard Buyer License — the standard licence applies unless your description says otherwise.
- No fake urgency, invented reviews, unverifiable claims ("used by 10,000 companies"), or results you cannot back up.
04Extra rules by product type
| Type | In addition to the above |
|---|---|
| Software, plugins, integrations, scripts | Human-readable source, no obfuscation. Every network call, credential, permission and data flow disclosed. No remote code loading not described in the listing. A README with install steps and a changelog per version. |
| Themes & templates | Screenshots of the real output. Fonts and images inside the package must be licensed for redistribution or swapped for placeholders. |
| Ebooks & documents | Format and page count in the description. You wrote it or hold the rights; no public-domain reprints presented as original work without saying so. |
| Courses & video | Total duration, lesson list and format. Previews must come from the actual course. |
| Music, audio & samples | Format, sample rate and duration. Samples you sell must be cleared for resale; no unlicensed recordings or stems. |
| Art, photos & fonts | You are the creator or licensed distributor. Fonts: state the licence tier (desktop, web, app) the standard licence covers. |
| Datasets | Provenance, collection method, licence, row and column counts. No personal data without a lawful basis and disclosure. |
| Presets, LUTs, brushes, configs | The host software and version they work with, with before/after previews from the real preset. |
05What review checks
Plain English · When you submit, a moderator reads the listing against this checklist and either publishes it or returns it to draft with a comment you can read. Fix and resubmit as often as you need.
The reviewer checks, in this order:
- Prohibited content — nothing in the prohibited list, in the file, the text or the images.
- Rights — the listing is plausibly yours: your name, your previews, consistent with your seller profile; no obvious copies or brand misuse.
- Accuracy — the name, tagline, description and images describe the same product and match the file.
- Completeness — requirements, contents and licence stated; a real cover; a version.
- Type-specific rules from section 04.
- Quality floor — the file opens, the description is readable, previews are not broken or placeholder.
A returned listing carries the reviewer's comment on its review timeline. There is no fixed review time; new sellers' first listings are read most carefully. Resubmitting the same listing without addressing the comment slows things down.
Not yet · Review is done by people, in the EternalEngine app, without automated scanning — see Security for what is and is not checked automatically.
06After you are published
- Editing a published listing's file or price is your responsibility to keep accurate; bump the version when the file changes.
- Archiving takes the listing off the catalog; existing buyers keep their download and any installation.
- A listing found to breach these guidelines after publication can lead to seller suspension, which hides every listing at once — see Moderation & reporting.
- Reviews come only from verified buyers; you may not solicit, buy or write them.
