Prohibited content
ScrollForge is open to almost any digital product from almost anyone — that only works if the lines are clear. This is the list of what cannot be listed, and what happens when it is.
01How this policy is enforced
Plain English · A person reviews every listing before it can be published. Breaking this policy means the listing is rejected, or the seller is suspended and every one of their listings is hidden at once.
This policy applies to everything a seller submits: the product file, its name, description, images, previews and version notes, and the seller profile. Three controls stand behind it today:
- Human review before publication. Every listing enters a review queue when submitted and is published only by a Marketplace moderator; sellers cannot self-publish. A listing that breaches this policy is rejected with a reason.
- Seller suspension. A seller who lists prohibited content may be suspended, which immediately hides all of their listings from the catalog and search and blocks purchases. Serious breaches — CSAM, malware, fraud — result in permanent removal and, where required, a report to the authorities.
- File integrity checks on every upload. Uploads are limited to an allow-list of file types (no SVG, no HTML), the declared type must match the file's real bytes, and executables and scripts are rejected outright.
Not yet · We do not yet run automated content classification, image hash-matching or antivirus scanning on uploads, and there is no in-page report button — reports are by email (section 11). We say so rather than imply a control we do not have.
The categories below are not exhaustive; we may reject or remove content that is harmful, unlawful or contrary to the spirit of the Marketplace even if it is not named here, and the list may change as card-network and payment-processing rules change.
02Illegal content & exploitation
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, real or simulated, and any content that sexualises minors — zero tolerance; we report it to the authorities and permanently remove the account
- Content that facilitates human trafficking, exploitation or abuse
- Instructions or tools whose primary purpose is committing a crime, including credential theft, fraud kits, and unlawful surveillance
- Anything illegal to sell or distribute in the United States or in the seller’s or buyer’s jurisdiction
03Sexual content
Plain English · Adult content cannot be sold on ScrollForge. Every sale is a PayGate payment, and PayGate cannot process payments for it.
- Pornography and sexually explicit content created for sexual gratification, in any medium — PayGate cannot process payments for it, so it cannot be sold here
- Sexual content depicting real, identifiable people without their documented consent, including AI-generated likenesses
- Escort, sexual or intimate services of any kind
Artistic nudity in a non-sexual context (figure studies, classical art references, anatomy) may be listed if it is clearly labelled in the description and the preview images are not explicit. When in doubt, ask before you submit.
04Infringing & unauthorised content
Plain English · Sell what you made or what you are licensed to sell. Nothing copied, cracked, ripped or re-branded.
- Files you do not own or have no licence to sell — including resold ebooks, fonts, stock media, courses, samples, plugins, themes and code
- Unauthorised copies, cracks, keygens, "nulled" software, licence-bypass tools and modified versions of others’ products
- Counterfeit goods, and products that use a third party’s trademarks, characters or brands without permission
- Scraped, ripped or mirrored content from other creators, platforms or websites
- AI-generated content that reproduces a living artist’s name, style or work as a selling point without their consent
Rights holders can send a notice under the Copyright & DMCA policy; repeat infringers are removed.
05Malicious or deceptive software
Plain English · Software must do what the listing says and nothing hidden. Anything that spies, phones home undisclosed, or breaks security is out.
- Malware, spyware, adware, ransomware, miners, or code with hidden functionality of any kind
- Software that collects, transmits or stores user or workspace data without clear disclosure in the listing
- Obfuscated code sold as a product, and software that downloads and executes remote code not described in the listing
- Tools designed to circumvent security controls, licence checks, rate limits, DRM or tenant isolation
- Bots, automation or scripts intended for spam, fake engagement, credential stuffing or scraping
Products that need network access, credentials or workspace permissions must say so, and why, in the listing. See the Listing guidelines for what software listings must disclose.
06Deceptive & harmful products
- "Get rich quick", guaranteed-return, multi-level marketing, and investment or trading "systems" presented as sure things
- Fake reviews, testimonials, followers, engagement or credentials, and products that generate them
- Products that misrepresent what they are, what they contain, who made them, or what results they deliver
- Diplomas, certifications, IDs or official documents, real or imitation
- Medical, health or pseudo-pharmaceutical products making unproven claims
07Hate, harassment & violence
- Content that attacks or dehumanises people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or similar characteristics
- Content that incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or self-harm
- Harassment, doxxing, threats, or content created to target or humiliate an individual
08Regulated goods & payment-restricted categories
Plain English · Every sale is a PayGate payment to the seller's payout account, so what PayGate cannot process is a hard floor for ScrollForge.
- Weapons, weapon parts, 3D-printable weapon files, explosives and instructions for making them
- Drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and products designed to pass drug tests
- Gambling, lotteries, sweepstakes and betting products or systems
- Tobacco, vaping and alcohol products
- Anything else PayGate cannot process payments for (section 08 links the underlying list)
PayGate's payment processing is provided by Stripe, so the underlying list is Stripe's Restricted Businesses page; it can change without notice from us.
09Personal data & accounts
- Personal data of others: contact lists, leads databases, scraped profiles, or any dataset containing personal information collected without a lawful basis
- Accounts, logins, in-game currency or virtual items belonging to other platforms, and access to services you do not control
- Products whose only value is bypassing another platform’s terms
10Restricted: allowed with conditions
Plain English · Some categories are fine when they are clearly labelled and properly licensed.
| Category | Condition |
|---|---|
| AI-generated or AI-assisted content | Disclose it in the description; you must hold the rights to the training inputs you supplied and the outputs under the tool's terms; no living artist's name or likeness as a selling point. |
| Products built on open-source or third-party components | Comply with every component's licence, include the required notices in the file, and do not sell a bare copy of someone else's open-source project. |
| Fonts, stock media, samples, templates | You must hold a licence that permits resale or redistribution in the form you are selling; the buyer's rights cannot exceed yours. |
| Financial, legal, medical or health educational content | Must be educational, must not promise results, and must not present itself as professional advice. |
| Datasets | No personal data without a lawful basis and disclosure; provenance and licence stated in the listing. |
| Software that accesses external services or workspace data | Every permission and data flow disclosed in the listing. |
11Reporting a listing
Seen something on this list? Email info@eternalengineos.io with the listing URL and what the problem is. The full process — what to include, what we do, and how a seller can appeal — is on the Moderation & reporting page. For copyright claims use the DMCA process; for security issues in a product or in the marketplace itself, see Security.
