Buyer License

What you may do with a product you buy on ScrollForge. One standard licence applies to every purchase unless the listing states its own terms.

Last updated Standard licence

01What you get

Plain English · You get a licence to use the product, not ownership of it. The seller keeps the copyright. A completed purchase puts the download in your library for as long as you have your account.

When a purchase completes, the seller grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to use the product on the terms of this page ("Standard License"). The seller — or the rights holder they are licensed by — keeps all copyright and other rights in the product. EternalEngine is not a party to the licence; it delivers the product and enforces the entitlement.

Your entitlement is recorded against your EternalEngine account: the product appears in your library on scrollforge.io and in the app, and you may download it again from there. Free listings are licensed on the same terms.

02What you may do

  • Use the product for personal and commercial purposes — in your own work, your business, and work for your clients.
  • Modify, adapt and combine it into your own projects (a document, a design, a site, a track, a course, an application).
  • Install a software product into your own EternalEngine workspace, where the product supports it, and keep it installed for as long as your entitlement stands.
  • Make reasonable backup copies for your own use.
  • Let members of your own team or organisation use it for the same project — one purchase covers one organisation's use, not distribution to others.

03What you may not do

Plain English · Do not sell, share or give away the file, or pass it off as your own product.

  • Resell, sublicense, rent, lend, share or publicly distribute the product file, in whole or in part, in its original or a trivially modified form — including as part of a "bundle", a template pack or a free download.
  • Offer the product, or something derived mainly from it, as a competing product on ScrollForge or elsewhere.
  • Remove copyright notices, licence files or attribution the seller included.
  • Use the product for anything on the prohibited content list, or in breach of the law.
  • Claim authorship of the product itself.

End products that merely use the product — a book laid out with a template, a video scored with a track, an app built with a plugin — are yours; the underlying product is not.

04When the listing says otherwise

Plain English · A seller can grant more (open-source, extended licences) or less (personal use only) in the listing description. Read it — the listing's own terms win where they are clear.

Where a listing's description states its own licence terms — an open-source licence, an extended or per-seat licence, a personal-use-only restriction, font tiers — those terms apply to that product and take precedence over this page to the extent they are clearly stated before purchase. Terms a seller tries to impose only after purchase, or that contradict theMarketplace Terms, do not apply.

Not yet · Listings do not yet have a structured "licence" field — a licence chosen by the seller lives in the description text. A picker that shows the licence beside the price is planned; until then, the Standard License applies whenever the description is silent.

05Software & installable products

Software runs with whatever access you give it. Before installing, read the listing's disclosure of permissions, network calls and data handling. An installation you already made into your EternalEngine workspace stays in place if the seller later archives the listing; updates depend on the seller. The seller, not EternalEngine, is responsible for the product's behaviour — see the third-party products section of the Terms.

06When the licence ends

Plain English · A full refund ends the licence and removes the download. Otherwise it lasts as long as your account does.

If a purchase is fully refunded, this licence ends: the download is removed from your library, and you must stop using and delete your copies, including any installation. A partial refund leaves the licence intact. The licence also ends if you breach it. Otherwise it continues for as long as your EternalEngine account exists, even if the listing is later archived. If a listing is removed for a rights or policy breach, the seller's own grant may have been invalid — we will tell you, and the refund policy applies.

07Ownership & warranty

The seller warrants to EternalEngine that they hold the rights to grant this licence. Products are otherwise provided by the seller as-is, as the Marketplace Terms describe. Questions about a specific product's licence go to the seller first; questions about this page go to info@eternalengineos.io.
